ServicesStamped Concrete

Stamped Concrete in Cerritos

Stamped concrete gives you the look of stone, slate or brick with the strength of a single poured slab. Before we talk patterns, we look at your yard, your drainage and what's under the old surface. Then you get plain findings and a clear plan.

What stamped concrete is and when it makes sense

Stamped concrete is fresh concrete that we color, then press with textured mats while it's still soft. The result looks like flagstone, cobble, wood plank or slate, but it's one solid slab. Weeds can't push up through joints, and individual pieces can't shift the way pavers sometimes do.

It's a good fit for patios, pool surrounds, front walks, entries and driveways where you want the surface to match the style of your home. It isn't always the right call. A steep grade, a shady spot that stays damp, or a heavy-use area may be better served by a broom finish. We'll tell you that at the site visit instead of selling you the fancier option.

We've been in business 15+ years and are licensed by the California State License Board (CSLB). Most of that time has been spent learning one lesson: a stamped slab only looks good for years if the base under it is right.

What's included in a stamped concrete job

A site inspection first

We check the soil, slope, drainage paths, tree roots and any existing concrete that has to come out. You get our findings in plain words, with photos when they help.

Pattern and color planning

We bring samples of patterns and colors and help you pick ones that suit your home and how you use the space. Lighter tones stay cooler underfoot in summer sun, which matters near a pool.

Base prep and forms

Old concrete is removed, the ground is graded so water runs away from your home, and a compacted base goes down. Reinforcement is set before the pour.

Color, stamping and joints

Color goes in the mix or is broadcast onto the surface, a release agent adds depth, and the mats are pressed at the right moment. Control joints are cut so any cracking follows a planned line, often hidden in the pattern.

Sealing and cleanup

After curing, we wash off the release agent and apply a sealer that brings out the color and protects against stains and fading. We haul away debris and leave the area clean.

Signs stamped concrete could be right for your yard

Your slab is plain and tired
A gray patio or walk that's stained, worn and uneven can make the whole yard feel dated. Replacing it with a stamped surface changes the look of the space without adding upkeep.
Pavers keep shifting
Sunken or lifted pavers and weeds in the joints are common complaints. A single stamped slab gives a similar look with no loose pieces.
You want it to match your home
Stamped patterns and colors can pick up the tones of your roof, trim or stonework, so the walkway, entry and patio feel planned together.
You're adding a pool area or new patio
New outdoor living space is the easiest time to choose a decorative finish, since the ground is being prepared anyway.
Real stone isn't in the budget
Natural flagstone and slate cost more to buy and install. Stamped concrete gets you close to that look for less.

How a stamped concrete project runs

  1. 1

    Site visit and findings

We walk the area with you, measure, and look at grade, drainage and access for the trucks. You hear what we found before we recommend anything.

  2. 2

    Written estimate

You get a line-item estimate covering tear-out, base, pattern, color and sealer, so you can see what each choice adds.

  3. 3

    Prep day

We remove old material, grade, compact the base, set forms and place reinforcement. We protect walls, plants and your home's siding from splatter.

  4. 4

    Pour and stamp day

Stamping has a short window while the concrete is workable, so we arrive with a full crew and mats laid out. Color, release and stamping happen in order, then joints are cut.

  5. 5

    Cure, wash and seal

Foot traffic is usually fine after a day or two, and cars generally wait about a week. Once cured, we clean the surface and apply sealer.

What affects the price of stamped concrete

Every yard is different, so we price after the inspection, not before. The estimate shows each part of the job on its own line. Here's what moves it most.

Size and shape
Square footage matters, but so do curves, steps and tight corners, which take more forming and hand stamping.
Pattern and number of colors
A single color with one pattern is the simplest. Borders, accent colors and hand-detailed edges add time and material.
Removal and base work
Breaking out an old slab, hauling it off and correcting poor drainage or soft soil can be a big part of the cost.
Access and permits
A narrow side yard may mean wheelbarrows or a pump instead of a direct pour. Driveway work that touches the public approach may need a city permit, which we handle.

Stamped concrete questions we hear often

Is stamped concrete slippery when wet?
Sealed concrete can get slick, especially around a pool. We can add a fine anti-slip grit to the sealer, and deeper-textured patterns help too. We'll suggest what fits where you walk barefoot.
Will my stamped concrete crack?
All concrete can crack, and we won't pretend otherwise. A solid base, reinforcement and well-placed control joints keep cracks on planned lines, often hidden in the pattern so they're hard to spot.
How often does it need resealing?
Plan on resealing every two to three years, depending on sun exposure and traffic. Fresh sealer keeps the color rich and protects against stains.
Can you stamp my existing patio?
Stamping is done while concrete is fresh, so we pour a new slab. At the visit we look at the old one and explain what needs to come out and why.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. Our stamped concrete work comes with a 1-year warranty. We'll go over what it covers when we review your estimate.
